Education is about developing the ‘whole child’, and this means instilling a positive sense of self through good values, respect for others, compassion, responsibility and integrity.
It’s vital for students to understand the importance of the culture of giving to develop into better human beings. At Tenby Schools Ipoh, we provide our students with invaluable opportunities to lead charitable efforts and understand the plight of less fortunate members of society. This increases their belief in their ability to positively impact the lives of the people around them during their school years and beyond.
Some of the charitable initiatives our students have supported include:
Christmas Charity Bazaar
Christmas Charity Bazaar
In November 2018, we held a Charity Christmas Bazaar in support of the Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled, Perak (Persatuan Pemulihan Orang Cacat, Perak), Kampung Terlimau in the Cameron Highlands and Noah’s Ark, Ipoh. The bazaar was a huge success with our students raising a total of RM12,000.
EPIC Homes
EPIC Homes
We have identified EPIC Homes as the focus for our charity drive this year, and are raising funds so that our students can participate in community service as well as build a home under the EPIC programme.
To raise funds, we have organised the Tenby Charity Run and a Family Fun Day as well. We will also be organising a Charity Dinner together with the Parents Association in November to support for this worthy cause.
Sedunia
Sedunia
We will be launching Sedunia for our students in the 2019/20 academic year. Sedunia is a platform that will help our students take responsibility for their own community work and we hope that it will help transform them into responsible and effective young leaders. More details about Sedunia will be shared in the future.
