Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia – Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park has once again made a significant mark on the international chess scene, claiming the top spot in both the junior and senior categories of the ISP Chess Masters Tournament. The prestigious tournament, held annually to celebrate International Chess Day, attracted over 2,700 students from around the world. 

 
 

The ISP Chess Masters Tournament is more than just a competition; it's a platform for students to develop critical life skills like strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. By participating in the tournament, students not only enhance their chess abilities but also cultivate a resilient spirit and a sharp mind. 

Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park's success in the tournament is a testament to the school's commitment to providing students with exceptional learning opportunities. The school's International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS) Chess Masters program has been instrumental in nurturing young chess prodigies. 

"We are incredibly proud of our students' achievements in the ISP Chess Masters Tournament," said Jeff Ison, Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park. "Their dedication, hard work, and strategic thinking have paid off. This victory is a testament to the quality of our chess programme and the support of our teachers and staff."  

 

The tournament featured five categories: School Division, Regional Division, Amazing Learning, Puzzle Master, and Lesson Master. Students aged 8-15 competed in online and in-person events, playing Swiss-style chess. 

The ISP Chess programme is not only about winning tournaments; it's about developing well-rounded individuals. Chess teaches students important qualities like resilience, sportsmanship, and patience. These skills are invaluable not only in chess but also in other areas of life. 

As Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park looks ahead, the school is committed to continuing its legacy of excellence in chess. By providing students with a supportive and stimulating environment, the school aims to inspire future generations of chess champions.
