Your child’s first school experience is so important - it shapes how they’ll approach learning throughout their life. In our kindergarten in Shah Alam, we aim to spark a natural curiosity in children using our play-based approach in Early Years. Have you wondered how we inspire excitement and motivation both inside and outside the classroom in our Early Years Curriculum?
Express themselvesÂ
By encouraging physical development, children naturally explore their surroundings and grow curious about the world around them. Have you ever wondered how much fun they can have while learning? Our custom play indoor and outdoor nature spaces offer just that - allowing children to enjoy themselves while picking up valuable skills along the way. As they learn to safely use equipment, they not only boost their coordination but also gain the confidence to express themselves. Â
At our international school in Selangor, inspired by the European forest school approach, children have regular opportunities to build independence, resilience, problem-solving, and communication skills. Have you considered how hands-on, child-led learning will empower your child to thrive? Through engaging with nature, they develop a deep connection to the world around them. It’s an approach that builds confidence and supports learning across all areas of development. Plus, our ethos centers around caring for ourselves, each other and the environment.
Learning out loudÂ
For our Early Years children, learning out loud turns everyday moments into opportunities for growth. As they share their ideas and ask questions, they strengthen their communication skills and develop a sense of ownership in their learning journey. This builds self-confidence and lays the foundation for skills like critical thinking and problem-solving. By naming and noticing their learning experiences, they also begin to understand how to navigate challenges and celebrate success-a skill they'll carry with them for life.Â
Â
At Tenby SEP, we foster this through interaction play, thoughtful conversations and an atmosphere where every voice is heard and valued. Learning out loud empowers young children to take their first steps as curious, confident learners. Come see how we nurture this growth in a warm, supportive environment!Â
All Early Years students in our Tenby SEP enjoy weekly lessons with specialist Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin teachers, alongside daily sessions to build confidence in both languages. Have you ever wondered how our tri-lingual approach nurtures young learners? This solid foundation in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and English ensures your child is well-prepared for either Tenby International School or Sekolah Sri Tenby. Love of reading and writing
We believe literacy should be exciting and engaging, sparking a lifelong love for reading and writing. Curious how this works in the Early Years? Children begin by reading simple sentences, using new skills to decode and pronounce words fluently. Through discussions, they’ll explore what they've read, deepening their understanding of stories. And when it comes to writing, they apply their phonic knowledge to form simple sentences that reflect their spoken words. Â
Problem solvingÂ
In our approach to mathematics, children develop strong counting skills from 1 to 20, learning to sequence numbers and identify what comes before or after. Have you ever wondered how they use real-world objects to add and subtract? By counting forwards and backwards, they solve problems and tackle more advanced concepts like doubling, halving, and sharing. Plus, they use everyday language to compare size, weight, and time, building essential problem-solving skills. Â
Wonder and intrigueÂ
Children love to share stories, whether they’re about their own adventures or their family’s experiences. Have you noticed how curious they are about the differences and similarities between people, families, and communities? They enjoy exploring the world around them - observing animals, plants, and objects, and asking why things happen the way they do. Ever wondered how we encourage them to discover what makes their surroundings unique? From exploring nature to discussing changes they see, learning about the world becomes a fun and engaging adventure!Â
Love of reading and writingÂ
At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, we know that literacy should spark a love for reading and writing from the very start. Ever wondered how we do it? In the Early Years, children begin by reading simple sentences in their daily phonics classes, using new skills to decode and pronounce words accurately. Through fun discussions, they explore stories and deepen their understanding of what they’ve read. When it’s time for writing, they build on their phonics to create simple, meaningful sentences. Interested to see how we make learning so engaging? Come and watch their literacy journey unfold!Â
Explore the artsÂ
Children love the joy of singing, making music, and expressing themselves through dance. Have you seen how they experiment with colours and textures during art sessions? Using different materials and tools, they explore their creativity in design and art. They also express their own ideas and feelings through role-play, storytelling, and creative arts. At Tenby Schools SEP, we celebrate this artistic exploration, fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. Be prepared for artistic masterpieces coming home for admiration!Â

Gain essential life skills to thrive in academics, as well as careers and personal livesÂ
Develop proficiency in at least one world language, while being supported in home or first languages.
Try global skill-building programmes and activities that develop critical thinking, teamwork and leadership.
Our schools are clear about the knowledge and skills students need to succeed academically.
Beyond that, our schools are equipped with innovative curricula, a research-backed learning approach and high-impact assessment tools, all designed to deepen each student’s understanding. Continuous improvement is fundamental to ISP.
All our schools follow a learning improvement framework which monitors performance against selected criteria proven to best support student learning.
It helps us enhance our approach to have the greatest impact on students’ success.
We believe that there are some key life skills that all students need to thrive. These include everything from digital literacy to global awareness.
These skills prepare them to adapt to a rapidly changing world, make informed decisions, and build meaningful relationships, setting a strong foundation for lifelong success and fulfilment.
ISP students develop these skills over the course of their school years, through learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
International learning is part of our schools’ DNA. Our students are encouraged to explore a range of world languages.
We ensure all our students can communicate and collaborate confidently in at least one world language (usually English, Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish or French), in addition to their home languages.
Every year, iSP students around the world take part in multicultural and multilingual experiences called International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS). Whether it’s becoming a United Nations delegate or directing a film, ILOSprogrammes open the world to every student.
Every ILOS experience encourages students to discover their true interests as they prepare to succeed in today’s global society.
