Our international primary curriculum

A purposeful journey from fun-filled Year 1-2 to growth-focused Year 3-6, sparking curiosity and learning every step of the way!

History

Learn about the 19th and 20th centuries through compelling narratives, historical evidence, and critical analysis of major international issues and regional events.

Geography

Students develop practical skills in mapping, data analysis and conduct fieldwork to investigate geographical phenomena. They'll gain a deeper perspective on global issues and their impact on communities near and far too.

Languages

Being in a multilingual school, students learn English, Bahasa Melayu, and Mandarin at all levels with native-speaking teachers. They develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, starting with phonics in English and progressing to areas like drama to boost comprehension.

Mathematics

Supported by White Rose Maths and Mathletics, students explore number skills, data handling, fractions, and geometry. These resources ensure mastery and interactive practice, preparing students to confidently apply their skills by Year 6, ready for more complex maths and STEAM challenges in secondary school.

Science

Students develop the basics in scientific principles and prepare them for careers in medicine, engineering and beyond. They fuel their curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on experiments and real-world applications in specialised and modern laboratories on our campus.

Design and technology

In upper primary, students explore hands-on projects based on their IPC topics. They design, build, and test their ideas, using materials and technologies to solve real-world challenges. As they work with simple machines and electricity, students develop creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, all while understanding how design impacts the world around them.

Art

Students develop their creative potential by experimenting with different mediums and techniques, personal concepts, and create impactful art, all while building an appreciation for art’s role in culture and society.

Music

Study global musical traditions and learn to express yourself through performance and composition, creating music inspired by different cultures and historical eras in our Music and Recording Studio.

Computing

Starting with basic digital skills, students explore a variety of tools and technologies, building their understanding of coding, design, and data management. As they progress, they gain confidence in using technology creatively and effectively, preparing them to navigate the digital world with the skills needed for future challenges.

Physical education (PE)

Fitness meets knowledge, where students learn about anatomy, health, and the psychology behind peak performance in sports.

Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE)

Designed to support students in becoming happy, confident, and caring individuals, PSHE offers a safe space to express thoughts and feelings while developing essential life skills like building friendships, understanding others, and managing emotions. Through discussions and activities, it equips students with the tools to thrive personally and in their communities.

Learn from nature

At Tenby Early Years Nature School, we're excited to introduce our young learners to the wonders of nature through regular outdoor learning. Inspired by the European Forest School model, we encourage children to connect with the environment while building vital skills like independence, resilience, and communication. Through curiosity and confidence, they explore the world around them, learning to care for themselves, others, and the environment. It’s a unique and nurturing way to help them grow into mindful, capable individuals!

Student leadership opportunities

At our Tenby Setia Eco Park, we offer a variety of child leadership roles that encourage students to take responsibility, build confidence, and develop essential teamwork and communication skills. Whether leading their peers in group projects, helping organize events, or representing their class, these roles help children grow into responsible, self-assured individuals ready for future challenges.

Further afield

We love planning exciting experiences for our primary students. Throughout the year, we arrange delightful day trips to fascinating places, enriching our students' learning outside the traditional classroom setting. We also bring the excitement into our classrooms by inviting a variety of guests to conduct engaging workshops. A special highlight for our Year 4, 5, and 6 students is our annual camps. These camps are not only great fun but also a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen friendships and develop independence. These trips create lasting memories and important learning opportunities outside the classroom.
