After School Clubs & Trips

At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park, we consider after school activities to be an integral part of all our students’ learning and fully expect that our students involve themselves in these as part of their educational experience. This is because it develops the whole person, giving students the opportunity to experience activities which may become a life-long interest while enhancing a sense of accomplishment built by overcoming challenges in a fun, participation-based setting.Paragraph

Our after school activities are run across both our International and Malaysian National schools, meaning that students can interact and develop friendships outside their own circle while improving their social and interpersonal skills in the process.

Music Clubs

Music is a big part of the Tenby Schools Setia Eco Park community. In addition to our very own choir and orchestra, we also offer specialist clubs where students can focus on a particular group of instruments or genre of music. As of 2019, our music clubs include:

  • Tenby singers – choir
  • Tenby Philharmonic orchestra
  • Junior strings
  • Karate strings (beginners)
  • Wind ensemble
  • DDJ (Digital DJing) club
  • Show club (supporting our school production)
  • Tech crew (Light and Sound) club
  • Ukulele club (led by external expert)
  • Guitar club (led by external expert)
  • Taiko drumming club (led by external expert)

Soon to be added:

  • Music Theory Group
  • Brass group
  • Samba Drumming Crew

Sports Clubs

Sport brings the whole school community together, fostering a healthy sense of competition and camaraderie while giving students a sense of pride in their school that goes beyond their year group alone.

Whether it’s before, during or after school, all students have the chance to take part in sports that they enjoy:

  • Co-Curricular Sports Activities: a wide range of co-curricular activities including popular sports such as swimming, tennis, athletics and football, martial arts courses, and even more niche sports such as Rhythmic Gymnastics, Yoga, Freestyle Football and Frisbee.
  • Competitive Training: our Tenby Eagles represent the school in the different leagues of International Schools in Kuala Lumpur with great success. Our teams also take part in MSSD competitions and train hard with sessions held before school, during lunchtime, after school and on weekends.
  • Community Sports: as they assume greater leadership in the school community, our Form 4 students organise the Tenby Great Challenges, a one-day event where they lead the rest of the students through fun and engaging sports activities.

School Trips

When they’re not busy learning and improving, many of our students get to travel the world too. In recent years, some of our amazing destinations include:

  • A ski trip to Switzerland
  • A trip to visit the headquarters of NASA in Houston, USA
  • Regional trips to Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan and more
  • Year Camps and Experiential Trips

This is just a sample of the trips students enjoy, and does not include the many educational day trips that are organised to enhance learning and provide context to textbook material.
