Meet some of our key leaders at Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens below.

Liam Hammer
Campus Principal

Liam comes to us as a highly accomplished educator with qualifications from the University of Melbourne, Macquarie University and Harvard Graduate School of Education, Liam is also currently completing a Doctorate of Educational leadership from Wilkes University, USA.

Originally hailing from from Melbourne, Australia, he boasts over twenty years of international teaching and leadership experience using the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curricula, and has worked in Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and Albania. 

He is also an examiner, curriculum writer, Authorisation Visitor for the Council of International Schools (CIS), and has sat on committees of management for the Association of National & Private Schools, Association of Indonesia IB Schools and Directors of Tirana Association International Schools.

Meet our Leadership Team

Jurjen Raatjes
Head of Tenby International School, Primary

With an M.Ed from University Groningen and several qualifications in Education, Management & Business, and International School leadership from the University of Toronto, University of Aruba, Hanzehogeschool, and Schouten University of applied Sciences Mr Jur has worked in a variety of school settings, mainly in primary education in his home country of the Netherlands, as well as in Aruba, Rwanda and Kenya over the past 30 years.

His last international school was in Kenya, where he was the director of an IPC & IEYC school, combined with the local curriculum. Jur is here in Malaysia with his wife Anna and their two dogs. In his spare time he loves sports, cooking and creativity.

Susan (Sue) Kim
Deputy Head of Tenby International School, Primary

Sue holds a BA (Hons) in Education and a Diploma in Education Management. Her varied career has brought her around the world, where she has taught in international and bilingual schools in Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Japan, Kenya and China, as well as the UK.

Her greatest interest is the provision of equal education for differently abled children, in particular girls. Ms Sue is a cricket coach and believes that children’s involvement in attaining personal goals through sport enhances socialisation and teamwork. Her hobbies are photography, hiking and natural history.

Michael Dyer
Head of Tenby International School, Secondary

With a BA (Hons) in History from Plymouth University and a PGCE from Bath Spa University, Michael has embarked on a successful career in education where he specialises in the teaching of Humanities subjects including History and Geography.

He began teaching in 2007 and has been with Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens since 2013, where he is the Exam Officer for the Secondary section of Tenby International School in addition to fulfilling his role as Deputy Head of Secondary. In his spare time, Michael enjoys travelling and pursuing his passion for nature. He is also a fan of rugby and cricket.

Suzanne Laong Anak Clement Etan
Head of Sekolah Sri Tenby, Secondary

Suzanne graduated from University Teknologi Malaysia with a B.Ed. in Living Skills and Technology. She has 10 years of working experience in government schools a brings with her a great passion for teaching, driven by her belief that each and every child deserves a bright future. As a teacher, Suzanne hopes to play an important role to help them achieve their goals and guide them towards successful career choices.

Lynsey Gogin
Head of SEN/EAL

Ms Lynsey Gogin started her career as an English and Drama teacher in 2005 before expanding her expertise in the areas of Inclusion, Child Protection and Counselling in the UK. During this time, Ms Lynsey gained an MEd in Special Educational Needs and Disability and has worked in Leadership roles as a SENCO, Designated Safeguarding Lead and most recently as a school counsellor in secondary education. Ms Lynsey is passionate about ensuring that every child reaches their full potential, both academically and pastorally. In her spare time, Ms Lynsey loves to travel and explore, and learn about other countries and cultures. She also enjoys learning new languages and hopes to cultivate her language and communication skills through contact with people from around the world. She is also a fan of musical theatre and gymnastics.
