Celebrating Multilingualism & EAL

Language shapes learning, connections and opportunities. At Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens, students grow in a multilingual environment where English is the main language of learning and communication.

With nearly 1,000 students from over 30 countries, our diverse community thrives on cultural exchange. Every student develops strong English skills, with additional English as an Additional Language (EAL) support available when needed. Alongside English, students learn a second global language -  Mandarin Chinese  and our local language  Bahasa Malaysia, equipping them with global communication skills for the future.

  • An English-speaking campus with our core focus on students becoming fluent in this global language
  • Multilingual offer from Early Years onwards so that students develop the language skills they need to succeed in a global society
  • Dual language syllabus in Sekolah Sri Tenby Setia Eco Gardens with Mathematics and Science in English
  • Student home languages celebrated as additional languages for learning and as part of the cultural diversity of community
Empowering every learner

We help students develop strong language skills and confidence through real-world practice, assessments, and personalised support.

Tailored language assessments

We believe in personalised language learning:

  • During assessment every student completes a language assessment and language profile

  • On entry, every English additional language learner completes a WIDA baseline assessment in English

Our goal: To support all EAL learners to achieve English Tier 1 – the student is fluent in English and has acquired the social and academic language to learn independently
