Parents’ Association

WHAT IS A PTA?

A PTA is organisation of parents, teachers and staff. Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school.

WHO IS A PTA MEMBER?

At Tenby Schools‐Setia Eco Gardens (Tenby SEG), parents, guardians and teachers are automatically members of the PTA. If you have a child in the school, or if you are a teacher/staff in the school, you are a PTA member.

WHAT DOES THE PTA DO?

Our PTA is an active group of parents and teachers who meet regularly to plan and organise events and activities to enrich our children’s experience of education.

The PTA also raises funds for the school to improve the resources available, as well as develop platforms which encourage community support.

Some of the events we organise include festive celebrations, annual family day, teachers’ day, school uniform donation drive, book donations etc. We also support the school during sports day, swimming gala and school concerts.

WHY SHOULD I GET INVOLVED?

The PTA organises lots of activities during the year, none of which are possible without a great group of parents volunteering their time. Being involved is a great way to get to know the school, contribute to your child’s learning and to meet other like-minded parents.

Parent volunteers make a difference to their child’s experience of school, as well as those of other students. Whether you have lots of time to offer or less, you can always help with the PTA.We can use any skills you have and you may even learn new ones!

HOW CAN I BE INVOLVED IN MY PTA?

Some parents may be able to visit the school and provide help in events and activities, while others may accompany teachers on school trips or sports meets. There are also activities that you can be involved in that are less time-consuming, such as helping us link up with the local community or donating items required for our activities. Ultimately, any contribution or help you can give is for the benefit of the school community and our children.

If you would like to play a part in enriching your child’s education at Tenby SEG and have fun at the same time, please come along to our meetings or volunteer for our events.

Parent monthly meetings are held every month, usually on the 4th Friday of each month at 8am in the Library. These meetings are open to all of the Tenby SEG community.
