At Tenby International Primary School, every learner’s journey starts with curiosity and grows with confidence. Our classrooms are alive with discovery, where every activity is crafted to inspire a love for learning. Experience a curriculum that combines the depth of the National Curriculum for England with the innovative, global perspective of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and see how we empower students to think critically, collaborate meaningfully and grow as confident learners prepared for future opportunities.
Guided by the Learning.First™ philosophy, our teachers support every learner’s journey, working with students as they build resilience, embrace challenges and develop the skills they need academically and socially. From the exploratory and fun-filled Year 1 and Year 2 (Key Stage 1) to the engaging and growth-focused Year 3 to 6 (Key Stage 2), we inspire a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Exploring worlds through wordsLiteracy lessons foster a love for storytelling, comprehension, and creative writing. With programmes like Talk 4 Writing, learners engage in language through stories and interactive activities, building confidence in communication.
Grow at the pace of changeThroughout our classes we integrate our science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) approach, engaging students in hands-on, project based learning. This approach encourages collaboration, critical thinking and creativity across subjects.
Developing analytical mindsOur enhanced lessons use White Rose Maths to build fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills. Learners study arithmetic, geometry and statistics, later exploring algebra and solving equations. Lessons incorporate practical tools and interactive activities, making mathematical concepts easy to understand and enjoyable.
Discovering the wonders of scienceLearners study biology, chemistry and physics through hands-on experiments. They learn about living organisms, materials, forces and energy. Science classes ignite curiosity and encourage exploration. The English curriculum is enhanced with White Rose Science to help students explore the natural world through hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning. Our lessons encourage learners to think like young scientists.
Embracing future technologyWe learn basic coding, digital literacy, internet safety and use the latest software. Projects enhance problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, preparing us for an ever-evolving digital world. Students develop digital literacy and coding skills using Byte-Ed, while VEX Robotics introduces them to robotics and programming through engaging, interactive activities. These programmes help students build life skills.
Tuning into the rhythmStudents immerse in the joy of music by learning an instrument, singing, and participating in performances. These activities foster creativity, self-expression and collaboration. Students can also learn to play musical instruments with professional instructors during extracurricular activities.
Building emotional intelligencePersonal, Social and Health Education help us understand and manage our emotions, build healthy relationships and develop social skills. We learn about mental wellbeing, physical wellbeing and our roles in the community.
Active lifestylesPhysical Education classes focus on building physical fitness, teamwork and coordination. Students participate in a diverse range of sports and activities, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
Connecting through multilingualismStudents can choose between daily Mandarin or Bhasa Malaysia lessons twice a week, with additional focus on music. Language lessons also incorporate learning an instrument, singing, and performance, fostering cultural awareness and communication skills.

House communities
Our whole campus House System provides children with opportunities to be rewarded for their efforts outside the classroom, where they can earn House Points for their participation in areas such as Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Character, Community, Creativity. Our four house groups are Ledang, Tahan, Kinabalu and Jerai.
Learning further afield
We love planning exciting experiences for our primary students. Throughout the year, we arrange delightful day trips to fascinating places, enriching our students' learning. A special highlight for Years 5 and 6 is the residential trips in Malaysia. Â These trips are not only great fun but also a valuable opportunity for students to strengthen friendships and develop independence. These trips create lasting memories and important learning opportunities outside the classroom.
Seamless transition
The Year 6 Transition Programme supports learners as they move to secondary school, offering buddy systems, taster sessions, and introductions to their new environment. By getting them to know the teachers, the whereabouts of the classrooms and the subjects, they'll be better prepared. During Transition week all students will have a Year 7 buddy assigned to them to help the process of moving up and they will have taster sessions to experience life as a secondary student.
