Tenby Schools Penang honored with NAPEI Excellence Award for Innovation in Education

31-01-2025

Tenby Schools Penang celebrates its NAPEI Excellence Award win, showcasing cutting-edge STEAM programmes, transformative learning spaces, and a commitment to preparing future-ready learners.

Tenby Schools Penang has been recognised with the NAPEI Excellence Award for Innovation in Education, celebrating the strength of our learning community and our commitment to equipping students for the future.

Tenby Schools Penang's STEAM Lead, and recipient of the Bett Asia EdTech 10 Class of 2023, Dr Sathisha Goonasakaran, shared:

"I had a beaming with pride moment when YBhg. Prof. Datuk Dr. Azlinda Azman mentioned that she recognised our school’s name, having frequently heard about the impactful work we have been doing. This achievement is a testament to the vision of Ms Jeanne and the entire Tenby Penang team, who continue to reimagine innovation in education."

The STEAM Engine, a 75,000 sq ft innovation hub, is at the centre of this achievement. Equipped with Robotics Labs, XR Labs, Makerspaces, and Design Technology Labs, it empowers students to connect learning across disciplines and apply it in real-world contexts. Whether integrating Maths into Geography or exploring advanced tools like VEX Robotics, students gain the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

More than just facilities, this award reflects a learning community that values curiosity, confidence and collaboration.

From passionate educators to driven learners, Tenby Schools Penang is about equipping students with life skills that will set them apart.
