Community

At Tenby Schools Penang, we are proud of the vibrant and dynamic community we’ve built! The Tenby Schools Penang Student Leadership Council (TPSLC), a fully student-led and student-run body, plays a key role in organizing fundraisers, campaigns, and exciting events throughout the school year. Every week, they meet to discuss issues important to the student body and bring forward fresh ideas to improve school life. The council is divided into passionate subgroups, including Community, Charity, Wellbeing, Sports, Eco, Events, and Media, ensuring that every aspect of school life is represented. Each position on the council is filled by students handpicked by the Senior Leadership Team, giving them the opportunity to grow as leaders.

Our Parents’ Association plays an essential role too, enriching the school community daily with their support. At Tenby, we know that when parents are involved, students are inspired! That's why we work closely with the Parents' Association to foster communication, address issues, and support our dedicated educators. Together, we create an environment where every student can thrive!

Pink day

In support of Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital and the Penang Hospice Society, the TPSLC helps to organise the school's Pink Day by having the bake sale. Students and staff are encouraged to dress in pink and donations will be made. All proceeds will go to help those within the community who are battling cancer and this raises the awareness of cancer in the school's community.

Beach clean

The school regularly organises beach cleanups to keep the environment clean. This raises the awareness of protecting the environment among the school's community.

Halloween Fundraiser

Over 800 people attend this annual event which is organised and run by the Student Leadership Council. Students, teachers and parents join in the fun and ticket sales are donated to UNICEF Malaysia to support underprivileged children.

The Spring Fair

Students on the Student Leadership Council are responsible for running a stall during our annual Spring Fair which is organised by our Parent Association. This is a fun day of games and events and is a wonderful opportunity to bring the school community together.

The Parent's Association events

Our Parents’ Association is not directly involved in teaching. However, by canvassing the views of the entire school community including parents of students in Tenby International School and Sekolah Sri Tenby, the Parents’ Association plays a crucial role in identifying trends in feedback across schools and year groups, giving us the means to make improvements and adjustments in an efficient and sustainable way.

We also organise various school events for students and their families throughout the school year. Some of them include the Tenby Annual Spring Fair, Teachers’ Day celebrations, festive celebrations and cultural days. There are also regular guest speakers who are invited to speak on topics as varied as children’s dietary health, academics, safety and more.

A "good struggle" is like climbing a hill. It's challenging but manageable, requiring determination and resilience. When students face these challenges and overcome them, they not only develop confidence but also cultivate a sense of curiosity that drives their learning.

Jeanne Denyer

Campus Principal

I've had many positive experiences with teachers who are proactive in identifying areas where students need additional support. They're not just focused on delivering lessons and marking essays; they genuinely care about their students' well-being.

Jeremy

Parent of International School

I feel that it's very important for our son to develop essential life skills, but more importantly, right now he knows what it means to give back to society.

Kenneth

Parent of National Primary

Tenby's science programme is a great blend of hands-on, project-based learning and inquiry-based learning. We delve into the world through practical applications, like designing rockets, fostering teamwork and critical thinking.

Yaseen

Head of Science, Secondary International

One of the reasons we chose Tenby over other international schools is its unique structure. Tenby offers both an international school and a national school within the same campus. This allows our children to connect more deeply with the multicultural society of Malaysia, which we believe is invaluable.
